St Devenick’s is open to everyone and you will always receive a warm welcome when you come to a service. The service leader will give clear guidance on what to do and when, and you are free to observe or partcipate as much as feels comfortable to you. All our services are followed by coffee or tea, and biscuits and the opportunity to chat. There are groups for children and young people which meet during the 10.30am service on a Sunday. In all our services we seek to make the Bible and God's wonderful story relevant to everyday life.
Sunday at 10.30am
This service is informal and interactive and aims to work for children and for people of all ages. There are 3 or 4 songs, a short talk (children have the option of joining in an activity while this is on) and some prayers, all relating to our theme for the day. It lasts about 50 minutes and is followed by squash, tea, coffee and biscuits.
Sunday at 10.30am, 1st Sunday of the month
This service includes several songs, a sermon (usually based on passages read from the Bible), prayers and Communion. Anyone is welcome to receive Communion if they are serious about seeking Jesus. It lasts about an hour and a quarter and the service leader will give clear guidance on which book to use and when to stand or sit.
Sunday at 10.30am, 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month
This service has a more flexible structure to allow more time for worship and teaching.
Every Sunday at 8.30am
An early morning communion service. There are prayers but no hymns, and there is a short sermon or talk. The service takes 40 minutes and is a reflective way to begin Sunday.
Thursday at 10.30am
Like the 8.30 service on Sunday, this service has prayers but no hymns, and there is a short sermon or talk.
