Children and Youth

Children, youth, and families are warmly welcome at St Devenick’s Church.

Children aged 3-11

During a typical month, children’s activities include:

Cafe Church: First Sunday of the month at 10:30am.

During the worship service, children and adults sit cafe-style at tables, enjoying baked goods and hot drinks and engaging in worship through craft, singing, teaching, prayer, and conversation.

Sunday Club: Second and Fourth Sundays of the month at 10:30am.

Children begin and end the worship service for singing, prayer, and Holy Communion with the rest of the church community in the sanctuary. During the middle of the service, children spend time in the church hall responding to a Bible story through craft, discussion, and games.

Messy Church: Third Sunday of the month at 11:00am.

Children and families meet in the church hall for hands-on, engaged activities focusing on a passage of Scripture. All are invited to stay for a catered lunch afterwards.

Some fifth Sundays of the month will feature Wild Church, meeting outdoors to explore creation and praise its Creator.

Please see the What’s On calendar to confirm what is going on or email mail@stdevenicks.org for more information. Children’s activities are usually not offered during school holidays.

Children’s activities are led by a team of adults along with youth worker Donna Kriel. Volunteers undergo a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check, and PVG Coordinator Lizzie Heimburger works to ensure child safeguarding.

Youth aged 11-18

Youth Jesus-Shaped Life (Youth JSL) happens a couple times each month on Sunday afternoons, 3:30-5:00pm during school terms. We share food, play games, and explore faith together.

There are also social evenings involving activities like breakout games and bowling.

Please email Donna Kriel at st.devsyouth@hotmail.co.uk for dates if you are interested in coming along, or see the What’s On calendar to confirm what is going on. Youth activities are usually not offered during school holidays.
